I just realized, I left all my home exercise stuff like a pullup bar, and weights, et al in VA. Grr, oh well, guess I can just go use the base gym or... *gasp* RUN!!!

I'm back LJ. I'm sorry I've been forsaking you, again. But I didn't have reliable internet until today.

As is, I'll be posting more and hope we'll be fast friends again in no time!

Also, I'm back in Annapolis again!!! :)

Dear LJ...

I miss you. Still alive, just moving. Don't worry, we'll get back together soon.
musicwolf: (LT)
Because I was promoted today!! It's now LT Martin. And not only that, but I was pinned today with my Fleet Marine Force Officer pin too. They even made a special certificate for me. I was rather spiffed about it!

Pics will be forth coming when I get them!

Well, my time with the Marines is almost done and I'm getting ready to move. I've qualified as a FMF Qualified Officer and I've been accepted to grad school. So I'll be working on two Masters at my next duty station at the Naval Academy.

There's more, but I need to ease myself back into this journal I guess. :)

So...

A number of people have been coming over here vice LJ and I've been thinking if I'm going to keep this going or not. I mean, I rarely update LJ anymore and this is just one more place to check everyday. Even if I almost never check it.

But still alive.
musicwolf: (Constitution)
...since I started this whole Navy thing. Think I've done rather well so far and still a fair number of years to go! :)
musicwolf: (hold me)
But I'm just tired. Not sleepy tired or sore tired from working out, but just tired. Like my soul is weary today and I'm just worn out. Maybe it's something in the air. I have a number of friends that have or are going through some horrible times in their lives, I wish them the best. But that's not it either, it just doesn't help cause I can't do anything for them either.

I feel just run down.

So here's my post. Been a decent weekend, went out to eat with both kids separately. Went to the archery range, when to the rifle range, took the boy-child bowling. Cleaned up around the house, and had, all in all, a good weekend.

So what have yall been up to?
musicwolf: (Dice)
Well, a lot of stuff happened this year and next offers more changes and opportunities. Guess we'll see how things stand a year from now.

See y'all on the flip side.

It's New Year's Eve
and hope are high,
Dance one year in,
kiss one good-bye.
Another chance,
another start,
so many dreams
to tease the heart.

...Let's wait and see
it may just be
the perfect year.

Time to roll the dice.

Well, I completely forgot to answer any questions from my last poll. Feel free to go back and take it if you haven't. Anyway, here we go...

[livejournal.com profile] porcelain72 - I really don't consider it so. Message me for more info.
[livejournal.com profile] entropic_om - Definitely. Keeps us relatively sane.
[livejournal.com profile] foreveranever - 42. But I'm always trying to double check.
[livejournal.com profile] mysticheart - Day by Day Armageddon by J L Bourne

[livejournal.com profile] porcelain72 - It's tough, but I have one appendage that helps. ;)
[livejournal.com profile] entropic_om - Being able to do whatever you what without fear of consequences.
[livejournal.com profile] foreveranever - I have no idea, sometimes I want to find out...other times it kinda scares me.
[livejournal.com profile] mysticheart - I do, it actually got upgraded to the next level not too long ago. IF you have questions, let me know.

*le sigh*

Thinking...

That is all.
musicwolf: (LTJG)
I love hearing this at a retirement and I think it sums up what everyone that has worn the uniform has done for this country and all of us.

The Watch

For twenty years
This sailor has stood the watch

While some of us were in our bunks at night
This sailor stood the watch

While some of us were in school learning our trade
This shipmate stood the watch

Yes.. even before some of us were born into this world
This shipmate stood the watch

In those years when the storm clouds of war were seen brewing on the horizon of history
This shipmate stood the watch

Many times he would cast an eye ashore and see his family standing there
Needing his guidance and help

Needing that hand to hold during those hard times
But he still stood the watch

He stood the watch for twenty years
He stood the watch so that we, our families and
Our fellow countrymen could sleep soundly in safety, Each and every night
Knowing that a sailor stood the watch

Today we are here to say
'Shipmate...the watch stands relieved'

Relieved by those You have trained ,Guided, and Lead
Shipmate you stand relieved... we have the watch..."

"Boatswain...Standby to pipe the side...Shipmate's going Ashore."

Holy crap!
